By the way, I think the Harris plans are being mischaracterized as wage and price regulations, even though I agree that going after price gougers won’t work because supermarkets already operate on extremely low margins. That was exactly what I saw Richard Nixon do in the early 1970s, and it was a horrible disaster. Despite the fact that I can understand why the Trump campaign finds Harris’ argument to be useful, Harris is not advocating for the government to set pricing for all goods.
