Following the postponement of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally that was supposed to take place today in Islamabad, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gave away Rs 5,000 to each of the party’s activists and supporters who had turned out for the highly anticipated public event.
Imprisoned Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, the advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s chief minister on information, claims that PTI founder Imran Khan had instructed the party officials to stage a power show in the federal capital on August 22.
“There will be no law and order issue,” Saif had promised during a press conference on August 18.
But according to an official statement, the district administration canceled the no-objection certificate (NOC) that had been given to the party based on the “report of the district intelligence committee.”
