On Wednesday, the price of gold in Pakistan surged further, breaking all prior records and reaching an all-time high.
The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) released data showing that the cost of 24-karat gold per tola rose by an additional Rs800, to Rs261,800.
The cost of ten grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs686 as well, reaching Rs224,451.
On the other hand, the price of gold dropped $8 globally to end at $2,504. In the local market, the price of silver stayed steady at Rs2,950.
The last record high for gold was recorded on July 18, following a two-day Ashura break, during which the yellow metal saw a sharp increase.
