ISLAMABAD The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have agreed to work together in the National Assembly and the Senate, marking a significant breakthrough in the political sphere, as The News reported on Saturday.
The PTI team, led by Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, and comprising Asad Qaisar, Shibli Faraz, Raoof Hasan, and Akunzada Hussain Yousufzai, met JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his home, which resulted in the inter-party progress.
The two parties, which have historically been bitter enemies, have communicated often since the polls on February 8 because they are both concerned about possible manipulation of the election results and anomalies in the polls.
Following their meeting with the JUI-F chairman last month, PTI leader and former NA speaker Asad Qaiser publicly agreed to hold discussions.
