This week, Muzz, a UK-based matrimonial app formerly known as Muzzmatch, hosted a groundbreaking in-person matchmaking event in Lahore that brought together dozens of young people.
This is the app’s first attempt to set up in-person meetings in Pakistan, a nation where families customarily arrange weddings and where dating applications are frequently viewed negatively.
The Lahore event, which drew about 100 people, was an attempt by Muzz to combine contemporary matchmaking with Islamic etiquette. The app, which is only available to Muslims, adheres to traditional principles while meeting modern needs. Privacy options include the ability to blur photographs and permit chaperones.
The participant, Aimen, 31, told the international news agency about her encounter. Before choosing to do so, she had been using the app for two weeks.
