After a “complex operation” in southern Gaza, Qaid Farhan Alkadi, 52, is being transferred for medical examinations to a hospital, according to the IDF. His health is stable.
According to a statement from the Hostages Families Forum, his “return home is nothing short of miraculous”. He “suffered 326 days in captivity,” according to it.
Mr. Alkadi, a native of the mostly Muslim Bedouin settlement, was employed as a security guard at a packing plant in Kibbutz Magen, one of the farming towns targeted in the October attacks.
He is the father of eleven children and has two spouses.
The Israeli military made video of Mr. Alkadi’s moments public.
Before boarding a chopper to a hospital, he was spotted sitting and grinning with soldiers despite looking unshaven and malnourished.
After being transported by helicopter to a hospital for examinations, Mr. Alkadi’s condition was deemed stable by the medical staff.
To welcome him, his family hurried to the hospital facility in Beersheba, a city in southern Israel.
