Rashid Latif, a former captain of Pakistan, stated on Thursday that improving grassroots cricket is essential.
Latif expressed his regret, saying, “The players are putting merely their own efforts to uplift. There is no infrastructure of sports in the country.”
“Shoaib Akhtar was born on a ground that has since closed. There were twelve nearby grounds during our visit. The area that produced seven of our Lahore captains has since been turned into a road, Latif added.
“The data analyst working at the PCB is a civil engineer,” he said in reference to the data analysts employed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“There are a lack of cricket grounds in the country,” Latif stated.
