Citing recent assaults and purported proof of Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing’s (RAW) involvement, Pakistan has accused India of assisting militant organizations in Balochistan.
Many people have been killed in recent attacks by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), including Punjabi laborers. According to Pakistani officials, these strikes are a part of a larger plan to undermine regional development initiatives, especially the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and destabilize the area.
A BLA commander is said to have turned himself in in December 2023 and admitted to obtaining safe havens and financial backing from India. This admission supports Pakistan’s long-standing claims that India meddled in Balochistan.
As proof of Indian participation, Pakistan cites the 2016 arrest of Kulbhushan Jadhav, an alleged RAW agent, in Balochistan.
