Karachi: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) published a list of the party’s 16 candidates for the 18 NA seats in the megalopolis on Thursday, according to Geo News. The candidates are running for seats in the National Assembly.
According to the list, MQM-P would field Aasia Ishaque from NA-232, Javed Hanif from NA-233, Muhammad Abubakar from NA-234, Iqbal Mahsud from NA-235, and Hassan Sabir from NA-236 constituencies of Karachi, in that order, starting from the lower number of NA seats to the higher number.
Arshad Vohra for NA-240, Abdul Rauf Siddiqui for NA-237, Sadiq Iftikhar for NA-238, and Dr. Farooq Sattar for NA-241 in district South will all run for office.
The candidate running for the NA-242 hot seat in the Keamari district is MQM-P Senior Deputy Convener Mustafa Kamal. In order to support former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has been pressuring the party to drop its nominee.
Hafizuddin for NA-245, Aminul Haque for NA-246, Mustafa Kamal for NA-247, and Humayun Usman for NA-243 will be the candidates.
Campaigning for the NA-248 seat in district Central will be MQM-P convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui; Farhan Chishti will run on NA-250; and Ahmed Saleem Siddiqui will run on NA-249.
A contender for the NA seat in Lyari did not receive a NA ticket from the party.
