After weeks of rumors, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher officially announced the reuniting of Oasis on Tuesday morning.
Both the band’s albums and singles are becoming more and more well-known as fans relive their favorite songs in advance of the 17 performances they have scheduled throughout the UK and Ireland next summer.
This week’s album chart features three of Oasis’s albums in the top five, with Time Flies rising to number three and Morning Glory (What’s The Story) at number one. Definitely Maybe in fifth place and up to four.
Definitely Maybe, the band’s debut album, is expected to debut at number one on the album chart the following week as it celebrates its 30th anniversary with a special edition this weekend.
Don’t Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall, and Live Forever, three of the band’s singles, have also re-entered the top 20, coming in at positions 16, 17, and 19, respectively. This is the first time the band has ever had three songs in the top 20 at the same time.
Gallagher brothers’ success is “mind-blowing,” according to Official Charts CEO Martin Talbot, who also said that “anyone who thought that their classic repertoire wouldn’t live forever will be having to eat their words today!”
