Both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to Ghazis and Shuhada, who selflessly fought the nation from foreign invasion and made enormous sacrifices.
President Zardari stated in his speech on the eve of Pakistan’s Defence and Martyrs’ Day that the military forces were alert, always prepared to counter any threat to the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and well equipped to destroy terrorists.
The president declared that Pakistan’s armed forces have the necessary equipment for defense, the necessary professional expertise, and the determination to defend the nation against all threats.
