In the intra-party dispute, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dismissed the PTI’s four miscellaneous appeals.
PTI’s challenge to the ECP’s authority over intraparty elections was denied by the ECP. PTI’s request for an adjournment in the intra-party election matter was also denied by the electoral board.
Additionally, the plea to postpone intra-party elections for a few seats until the commission’s ruling was denied. PTI was instructed by ECP to ask FIA to file a court request to return documents that were confiscated from the party office.
As per Section 208 of the Election Act, 2017, the commission is tasked with examining the legal prerequisites for elections within the same party.
In accordance with the stated judgment, ECP is in charge of reviewing the details surrounding the certificate’s issuing under Section 209-3.
