Following a surge in rates on the global market, the price of gold in Pakistan saw a significant increase again on Friday, with the rate per tola rising by Rs1,400 to close at a record Rs263,500.
The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reports that the cost of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,200, to Rs225,908.
Nonetheless, there was also an upward tendency in the global gold market. According to the APGJSA, the price of gold increased by $15 during the trading day to $2,518 per ounce internationally.
