ISLAMABAD Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has indicated that he does not want to seek an extension of his term as the nation’s top judge, following the federal law minister.
The chief justice said in an unofficial interview with reporters in Islamabad on Monday that he had been informed in a meeting that judges’ terms will be extended.
CJP Isa is scheduled to retire in October of this year, but as that date approaches, there have been many rumors that he may “extend” his career through parliamentary legislation that focuses on the judiciary.
