The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has been asked to apologize by the Association of Electronic Media Editors and News Directors (AEMEND) for using “vulgar remarks and issuing threats to journalists, mainly women during a public rally of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday.”

According to a statement from the journalist body, Gandapur made incredibly careless and inappropriate remarks about the journalists during the public protest. He also threatened them with grave consequences, which is unacceptable.

At the highly anticipated power show on Sunday, the provincial chief executive not only attacked his rivals but also journalists, labeling them “sellouts and brokers” without providing any supporting documentation.

The media association criticized the KP CM’s statement, saying that “journalists in Pakistan are carrying out their duties in unfavorable circumstances.
