Karachi: An elbow injury that will keep England fast bowler Mark Wood out of action for the rest of the year has also ruled him out of the forthcoming series against Pakistan.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) reports that Wood’s injury will prevent him from playing in both the series against New Zealand and the Pakistan visit.
Wood suffered an elbow injury during the West Indies series, according to the ECB statement, but he was able to play in the next Test match against Sri Lanka.
During the Test series against the West Indies earlier in the summer, he had begun to experience increased stiffness and soreness in his elbow.
