The renowned tanker mafia is now in charge of people in North Karachi, Shadman, and Bufferzone as a result of the worsening water crisis in Karachi’s Central District.
The water supply in these places is only available for a short 24-hour period, thus residents have to wait up to 21 days for it.
Many people are unable to afford pricey water tankers due to the poor circumstances, which raises questions about how families can manage without even the most basic access to water.
“Water tankers are beyond our means. “How are we going to survive?” a Makin, North Karachi, resident said in annoyance.
Residents came together on Saturday to protest the illegal fire hydrants that are fueling the current dilemma as a result of the increasing pressure.
