With assistance from SIFC, the Petroleum Division of Pakistan has advanced significantly in recent weeks. The division has been directed to improve correspondence over Pakistan’s offshore blocks with parties in China and Saudi Arabia.
The division is to engage all provinces in its strategy and address the shortcomings mentioned in the audit report of June 5, 2024. In order to guarantee project success, it is also responsible for setting milestones based on predetermined schedules.
Along with the Interprovincial Coordination Committee, an interprovincial meeting about the regulatory framework for minerals is to be arranged.
According to the Petroleum Division’s Special Secretary, all federal government mining projects have been moved to the newly established Minerals Wing, and consultants have been appointed.
