“Words cannot express how we all feel right now,” G4, who gained notoriety in 2004 after reaching the final of ITV’s first season of X Factor, said on Instagram to announce the passing of a former band member.
One of the founding members of the vocal group that finished second in the 2004 X Factor competition, Thapa departed the group in 2018 to focus on his solo musical endeavors.
In addition, G4’s memorial said, “We announce the sudden passing of our brother and great friend, Ben Thapa, with deep sadness.”
We are aware that this news will be devastating for a great number of others as well, and as we all remember the incredible guy and the memories he has left behind, please accept our love and support.
Ben has played a significant role in the global singing community and was essential to our group’s development.
I appreciate your love during this trying time. RIP Ben xxxx.
The tenor Thapa has received a ton of tributes. Pianist Chris Glynn said on X that Thapa was “incredibly gifted, giving, kind-hearted, & departed far too soon.” RIP Ben
