The second roundtable meeting on the subject is scheduled to take place at 10 Downing Street, where business secretary Jonathan Reynolds and deputy prime minister Angela Rayner will meet with executives from the private sector.
BT Group, J. Sainsbury, and John Lewis Partnership were among the biggest firms that the two cabinet ministers spoke with last week.
According to insiders, they will meet with representatives of SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) on Wednesday. These representatives will include executives from the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), and the Caravan restaurant chain.
They also stated that SMEs in the retail and hospitality industries will be among the others.
The government’s proposals to offer workers a “right to switch off” and outlaw zero-hour contracts have alarmed the business community.
Ministers will discuss substantial improvements to workers’ rights with SMEs.
