On Wednesday, Khawaja Asif, the minister of defense, asked the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold protests, but to stay inside the lines.
The veteran member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) voiced his opinions, saying: “It is disgraceful that the police have entered the parliament. However, the speeches made at the public event alongside the individuals wearing masks must also be denounced.”
Speaking harshly, he said, “KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur has challenged the writ of the state and warned of attacking the state with the group of people, which is all about derailing the democracy.” Gandapur is the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A few days ago, Asif distanced himself from any attempts to hold negotiations with the PTI and stated his disapproval of doing so.
