Former Millwall player Kiernan Hughes-Mason attacked the girl and then tried to tell the emergency authorities a false story, claiming she had fallen on a dollhouse.

Going to police discovered that the 32-year-old had sent numerous texts to individuals in the days preceding the attack with the subject line “I’m going to hit her” when they later searched through his phone.
Hughes-Mason was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Tuesday. The girl’s family referred to him as a “violent coward” after the sentence.
At the trial, it was revealed that on January 31, 2020, Hughes-Mason called paramedics and reported that he had discovered the girl he was caring for at the time, conscious but unconscious, at a house in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex.
The former football player informed emergency services that he heard a big bang coming from the girl’s bedroom and thought she had fallen. He played two games for Millwall between 2009 and 2011.
Nine minutes after the call was placed, the ambulance service arrived and took the girl to Southend General Hospital.
