For the second time since the general elections on February 8, there is a gap between the PML-N and PPP, two important partners, over changes to the law governing inter-provincial water distribution that the government has not yet presented in parliament. The administration “would not push” any legislation if it did not fit a province, PPP legislators were reassured by Minister for Water Resources Musadik Malik during his Tuesday speech in the Senate.
Following an interprovincial meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Balochistan’s irrigation minister Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani and his Sindh counterpart Jam Khan Shoro addressed a joint press conference.
