Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, the Minister of Energy (Power Division), declared on Thursday that 33 Independent Power Producers (IPPs) received payments of Rs979.3 billion from the federal government for capacity payment charges in the fiscal year 2023–2024.
The minister described the payments in detail in a written response to a question in the National Assembly. She said that the following recipients received payments: China Power Hub Generation Company (CPHGC), Huaneng Shandong Ruyi Energy (Pvt) Ltd., Port Qasim Electric Power Company (PQEPC), Lucky Electric Power Company Limited (LEPCL), ThalNova Power Thar (Pvt) Limited, Thar Energy Limited, Thar Coal Block-1 Power Generation Company (Pvt) Limited, and Engro Powergen Thar (Pvt) Limited.
