Michaela DePrince’s family acknowledged her passing on Facebook and posted a eulogy honoring “an unforgettable inspiration to everyone who knew her or heard her story” after she was declared dead on her Instagram profile.
Although no other information has been made public, they described her death as “sudden”.
Mabinty Bangura, the birth name of DePrince, was in war-torn Sierra Leone. Before being adopted by a New Jersey couple, she was raised in an orphanage for a portion of her early years.
She became a star after enrolling in ballet courses as a young child.
In a statement, her family wrote, “It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beautiful sister, Michaela Mabinty DePrince.” “Michaela touched so many lives across the world, including ours.”
A homage to a dancer whose “artistry touched countless hearts and whose spirit inspired many, leaving an indelible mark on the world of ballet and beyond” was posted on DePrince’s Instagram profile.
“Her life was one defined by grace, purpose, and strength,” the eulogy went on. Her steadfast dedication to her work, her charitable endeavors.
