ISLAMABAD: Sources told Geo News that the government’s planned constitutional change bill is probably going to be presented during today’s (Sunday) National Assembly session.
According to reports, the bill was anticipated to be introduced in the lower house of parliament through a supplemental agenda, with the NA and Senate sessions scheduled to begin at 4 and 7 p.m., respectively.
On Saturday, the administration planned to change Article 63-A of the Constitution, which deals with lawmakers defection, and form a constitutional court, according to well-placed sources who spoke to Geo News.
That day, in the parliament’s upper house, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reiterated his earlier statements, saying that the “Constitutional Bill” adhered to the principles of the Charter of Democracy (COD), which was supported by all political parties, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
