Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister, emphasized the significance of constructive and fruitful communication between Pakistan and the United States on Monday. He also brought attention to the macroeconomic and regional security concerns that persist, especially the insurgency’s ability to infiltrate through Afghanistan’s porous border.
Dar, who serves as the nation’s foreign minister, made this statement at the Foreign Office in Islamabad during a meeting with US Acting Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs John Bass. Elizabeth Horst, the principal deputy assistant secretary, was also present at the meeting.
According to a US Mission handout, the two officials talked about ways to strengthen bilateral collaboration on security and economic concerns, such as combating terrorism and violent extremism, as well as the significance of promoting stability and prosperity in the region.
