After the riots in Southport, a 12-year-old boy who flung stones at police was convicted as the youngest person.

After riots broke out in Southport this summer, a 12-year-old child is said to have been the youngest person to get a term.

The kid, who is too young to be named, had already acknowledged to a violent disorder charge in the Merseyside town on July 31 following the three little girls’ tragic stabbings.
When the youngster and his father arrived before Liverpool Youth Court on Tuesday, they were handed a three-month curfew and a 12-month referral order.

In addition, District Judge Wendy Lloyd granted his father a six-month parenting order and mandated that he reimburse Southport Mosque with £200 and £85 in fees.

The boy has a rough family environment and no prior charges, the court was informed.

“These offenses have rocked society to its foundation,” Ms. Lloyd said in imposing the youth’s sentence. You made the decision to join the enraged mob.

“Your early existence has been convoluted and, in many respects, depressing. However, you did a really terrible thing that evening. You tossing stones added to the already terrible scenario. It was truly awful.

“Many police officers were hurt that night.”

The day after Bebe King, age six, Alice da Silva Aguiar, age nine, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, age seven, were stabbed during a rampage at a dance class with a Taylor Swift theme on July 29, there were riots in several UK towns.
