During his visit to Pakistan, John Bass, the acting under secretary of state for political affairs for the United States, spoke about Washington’s strategies for enhancing bilateral cooperation on security and economic matters.
The under secretary discussed combating terrorism and violent extremism as well as the significance of fostering regional stability and prosperity with Pakistan during his meeting with officials in the federal capital, according to State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller, in response to a question regarding the reason for the high-profile visit to Islamabad on Monday.
Further, Miller stated: “The under secretary expressed his gratitude for Pakistan’s continued cooperation in assisting Afghans in resettlement pathways to the United States, and we will continue to work closely with the Government of Pakistan on all these issues.”
