KARACHI: On Wednesday, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah sanctioned Rs1.5 billion to rebuild the roads in Karachi that were damaged by this year’s heavy rainfall.
CM Shah oversaw a meeting where the damage was evaluated and instructed the Local Government Department to open an investigation into any roads built or restored after 2022 that have subsequently been swept away.
“Strict action must be taken against those responsible for the quality of work falling short of standards,” the chief minister stated, highlighting the necessity of responsibility in the building and upkeep of public infrastructure.
Attending the meeting at the CM House were Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Chief of Staff, Planning and Development Minister Nasir Shah, and LG Minister Saeed Ghani.
