Motorcyclists in Punjab are required to wear helmets in all districts, and entry to certain key locations is limited for those who do not.
The installation of special checkpoints on major thoroughfares, including as Mall Road, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Canal Road, and Main Boulevard, was announced by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Amara Athar.
Shanu Baba Chowk, Lake City, Adda Plot, and Abdul Sattar Edhi Road now have more checkpoints installed.
Wardens will be stationed at busy road entry and departure points to enforce these laws. Riders who are detected riding without a helmet will be fined Rs. 2,000 PKR.
Athar did stress that riders who wear helmets won’t incur fines.
