The 73-year-old Moti Maman admitted to having a “lapse of judgment” and is now assisting the police. Maman was detained by Israeli police in August after they claimed he had been to Iran twice to meet with intelligence officers who had assigned him different duties to do in Israel.
Israeli officials claim that Iranian intelligence suggested assassination schemes against Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar during his most recent visit to Iran in August.
According to authorities, Maman only received 5,000 Euros from Iran in exchange for his participation, despite his demands for a $1 million upfront payment.
