Pakistan’s government in Islamabad has reiterated its dedication to implementing the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) in its entirety, and it anticipates that India would follow suit.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokeswoman for the Foreign Office, made the comment on Thursday during her weekly news briefing in response to questions from the media about India’s letter asking for a reevaluation of the pact.
“Pakistan considers the Indus Waters Treaty an important one and hopes that India will also comply with its provisions,” she added.
Indus Water Commissioners are a mechanism between the two countries, and Baloch noted that all matters related to this treaty can be discussed within it.
