The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja had suspended Sindh Election Commissioner Sharifullah, Director of Administration Azhar Hussain Tunio, and Karachi Election Officer Khuda Bux for 120 days due to incapacity and poor administration.
The notification states that until the investigation is finished and new directives are given, the three officers will stay in Karachi.
Omar Ayub Khan’s disinformation against the CEC and its members was vehemently denounced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) earlier in August.
According to a statement, the ECP insisted on additional spending be made to the previous administration in order to obtain an opportunity for postponing the elections. This is in reference to the false claim made on a television program that the total cost of the general elections of 2024 was Rs 14.5 billion.
