According to sources within the government, the ruling coalition was in negotiations with the JUI-F on Tuesday for constitutional amendments, and attempts were being made to convince Maulana Fazlur Rehman to take the critical vote before the Parliament session.
It is expected that the National Assembly and Senate would consider and approve this kind of legislation in the near future.
Last week, the JUI-F brought significant attention to Pakistani politics by keeping the government on edge regarding the vote on a contentious constitutional amendment.
There were multiple drafts of the proposed legislation after the JUI-F voiced concerns about it, according to media reports. While the proceedings of both houses of Parliament were postponed on Sunday, the government made many visits to Fazl’s residence.
