During the Global Sustainable Transport Forum 2024, which was held in Beijing on September 25 and 26, President Asif Ali Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting a secure, environmentally friendly, and sustainable transportation system via a video speech.
He underlined Pakistan’s dedication to collaborating closely with China in order to accomplish sustainable development goals and advance prosperity and peace. In order to provide effective, environmentally friendly, and low-carbon transportation options that satisfy public requirements, Zardari emphasized the necessity of robust infrastructure.
The president praised China for its leadership in furthering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN and recognized the vital role that the transportation sector plays. He also discussed Pakistan’s efforts, like the introduction of pink buses made especially for women, which offer a secure and convenient means of public transportation.
