Police are looking into the murder of a young couple in Bahawalnagar, Punjab, as an honor killing.
Two months ago, Tayyaba Fatima and Naeem Abbas—who had married against their family’s wishes—were ambushed and fatally shot by five individuals, including Fatima’s brother and father.
Manahil, the couple’s three-year-old daughter, was also injured in the attack, which took place in the Fakirowali area.
According to sources, Naeem Abbas was previously married. The attackers left the location after the gunshots.
