RAWALPINDI: According to The News on Friday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), whose founder Imran Khan is now in jail, has ordered the party to stage a demonstration on September 28 instead of a public rally.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, Khan stated that the party that was formerly in power will stage a protest instead of a public rally, for which the party had even filed an application with the city government on Tuesday.
He went on to say that the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench would no longer grant the previous ruling party’s plea for a no-objection certificate (NOC) to organize a rally.
Over the course of several months, the PTI managed to secure permission for two public gatherings in Islamabad and Lahore, albeit with stringent guidelines imposed by local authorities.
