PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Financial Advisor Muzammil Aslam has welcomed the approval of the foreign Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout package and stated that the provincial cabinet has voiced concerns about certain aspects of the agreement with the foreign lender.
In an interview with Geo News on Friday, he stated that the cabinet has given the order to ask the federal government for clarification on certain issues.
He further stated that KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur would receive the requested explanation from the Center on the points.
This came about as a result of the Washington-based lender’s Executive Board approving a $7 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) on September 25. The first tranche, worth $1.1 billion, is anticipated to be released by September 30.
