This is thought to be the first attack on the capital city of Lebanon since the start of the current Hezbollah-led battle.
The Associated Press released photographs from the incident early on Monday morning, showing damage to buildings and emergency personnel gathered outside the residential neighborhood in the Kola district, a major traffic hub.
Three of the leaders of the militant Palestinian group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which supports a one-state solution to the conflict and is fighting Israel, were allegedly killed in the hit.
According to a Lebanese civil defense source, the strike claimed the lives of at least one person and sixteen persons.

The Israeli military has refrained from commenting or denying any involvement in the assault.
In the meantime, the Lebanese health ministry announced that Sunday’s separate airstrikes had killed at least 105 people nationwide.
It stated that at least 32 people were murdered in two strikes close to Sidon, which is located approximately 28 miles south of Beirut, and that at least 47 others were injured in two more bombings that took place in the northern province of Baalbek Hermel.
