After a ministroke in January 2022, Arnold made the decision to put his health first. The 65-year-old actor first met Charles D’Angelo, a personal development coach and fitness expert, at an Arnold Schwarzenegger-hosted charity function. From there, they started working together.
Arnold’s weight decreased from 285 pounds to 205 pounds under D’Angelo’s supervision and training. The “Roseanne” alum has maintained his weight loss over the past 2.5 years following his health scare.
In that period, Ozempic, an off-label medicine recommended for weight loss and Type 2 diabetes, experienced a meteoric rise in popularity and turned Hollywood into a frenzy.
In a recent interview with News, Arnold and D’Angelo discussed why the comedian had never used Ozempic to reduce weight, stating that he had “never heard of” the drug when he initially began his health quest.
“Something called Fen-Phen, like 1992, Roseanne and I, Oprah and John Goodman — we’re like, ‘That’s got to be fantastic, because you go to a doctor to get it, However, after we had all shed 100 pounds, Fen-Phen began to kill people. After that, they removed it from sale.
