Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), has declared statewide protests in response to news of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah’s passing. Ur Rehman denounced the purported murder and described it as a significant blow to the Muslim community. He said that although Israel is allegedly trying to crush resistance activities in the area, Hamas and Hezbollah are still strong rivals to Israeli objectives.
Ur Rehman chastised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq in Karachi for not denouncing the reported activities by Israel with more vigour. He claimed that although Israel has taken efforts to suppress Palestinian resistance and put an end to the movement for the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israel ultimately fears Muslim leaders rather than Muslim authorities.
