PARACHINAR: Key Pak-Afghan border crossing at Kharlachi in Kurram district reopened on Tuesday, after it remained blocked for nine days owing to fighting along the border area, said border authorities.

According to police, there are no longer any conflicts between the warring tribes, and the area is at peace. They said that police and security people were stationed at strategic locations.

The locals faced severe difficulties as a result of the border closure because supplies of food, medication, fuel, and other necessities for everyday life had become scarce.

Recall that the warring tribes had already agreed to a ceasefire that lasted around a month after days of brutal battles.

On September 27, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi declared that at least sixty persons had perished.
