When the visually impaired demonstrators tried to march towards the Chief Minister’s House in Lahore, The Mall became a “battlefield” as they pushed for their demands to be given government jobs on a quota.

Protesters attempted to forcefully remove barriers in front of Lawrence Garden, also known as Bagh Jinnah, but fights broke out when Punjab police stopped them.

Unfazed, the demonstrators carried on with their sit-in close to the governor’s mansion, which resulted in more run-ins with the law.

The altercation has resulted in multiple injuries.

In reaction, to stop the situation from getting worse, the police have deployed more officers to Mall Road and have erected barricades across the roads that go to the Governor’s and Chief Minister’s houses.
