The Federal Board of Revenue denied reports that there would be an extension, so the authority made it clear that there isn’t one for the deadline for filing income tax returns.
In a statement released on Monday, the FBR stated, “FBR refutes the news being circulated in the media about an extension in the last date for filing income tax returns for tax year 2024.”
“It is hereby clarified that the deadline for filing returns is today, September 30, 2024, and that no such extension will be granted.”
In order to prevent penalties, the board recommended all eligible taxpayers to file their income tax forms by the deadline.
