With effect from October 1, 2024, the National Highway Authority (NHA) raised the toll charge on major national highways and motorways by up to 30% on Tuesday.
The rise will boost commuters’ travel costs by affecting routes including the M1, M4, and M5 motorways.
The toll for vehicles traveling on the M1 Motorway, which links Islamabad and Peshawar, has raised from Rs 350 to Rs 460, per the most recent notice released by the NHA. Similarly, instead of paying Rs 500, visitors using the M3 Motorway to get from Lahore to Abdul Hakeem will instead pay Rs 650.
There has also been a significant increase in the toll on the M4 Motorway, which runs from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad and Multan.
