Leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and human rights campaigner Dr. Mahrang Baloch has been recognized in Time magazine’s esteemed list of the 100 most influential people of 2024.
The magazine stated on Wednesday that the “TIME100 Next list was created to recognise that many of today’s most influential leaders are individuals who are not waiting long in life to make an impact.” Leaders, trailblazers, supporters, and artists are all on the list.
Mahrang was selected for “advocating peacefully” for Baloch rights and led the December 2023 march to Islamabad, where hundreds of women sought “justice for their husbands, sons, and brothers”.
The 31-year-old physician announced that she had made a change on her official Facebook page by sharing a message that included an image of herself in a magazine.
