Ten Hag remains resolute, but is the manager of Manchester United about to falter?

Erik ten Hag appeared to be gazing into the distance as the Estadio do Dragao clock reached the ninetieth minute.

His Manchester United squad was about to suffer a demoralizing setback after blowing a two-goal lead against Porto and losing with Bruno Fernandes sent off once more.

Even if Ten Hag’s tenure at Old Trafford may not have been officially ended, such a loss would have pushed him perilously near to the brink.

Harry Maguire, though, sprung into action to head an equalizer and lessen the strain on his manager before that scenario could come to pass.

“We’ll make it,” Ten Hag assured Sports. “Judge us after the conclusion of the season, not right now.

We will get better; we are in the process. We’ve made it to the finals in two of our seasons; we’ll keep fighting.

But with United sitting 13th in the Premier League and rumors that Ten Hag had two games left to salvage his job after a lackluster 3-0 home loss to Tottenham, the Dutchman’s verdict is probably going to come much sooner if significant changes are not made.

Ten Hag continued, “You see the spirit and the connection between the staff and the team.”
