Although she participated in England’s two tournament warm-up victories, Zoe Harrison was picked for last weekend’s triumph over the United States.

With Tatyana Heard and Helena Rowland in midfield and Jess Breach, Abby Dow, and full-back Ellie Kildunne forming the back three, Aitchison is a part of an experienced backline.

England forwards coach Louis Deacon stated, “We went with both [Aitchison and Rowland] because of the cohesion they have got and we also have the ability to change it up because they are very versatile.”

“You saw last week that Scaz [Emily Scarratt] can also play 12 and that Holly [Aitchison] went to the 12.

We selected that specific mixture since it is the most effective.”

With Maddie Feaunati on the bench, Morwenna Talling, who can also play second row, maintains her position as blindside flanker.

One of ten changes to the starting lineup, prop Hannah Botterman, wins her 50th cap in the front row.

Red Roses captain Marlie Packer praised Hannah for her current play and her achievement of reaching 50 caps by the age of 25.

Throughout her career, she has experienced setbacks and serious injuries, but she has matured tremendously since she has accepted all of it.
