According to News, TreQ, a manufacturing firm dedicated to creating and managing open-architecture quantum computers, has received funding from Mandy Birch, who also serves as an advisor to the UK’s National Quantum Computing Centre.
Lavrock Ventures, an American venture capital firm with a focus on deep tech and national security, is leading TreQ’s seed investment round. The company is situated in Milton Park, Oxfordshire.

Firstminute Capital and the UK-based Creator Fund, both of which concentrate on early-stage European deep-tech companies, are also involved.

Green Sands Equity, based in Silicon Valley, also made a contribution to the financing.

I am aware of the extraordinary skill in the UK’s tech and defense world because I worked here in quantum and served alongside the British military, Ms. Birch added.

The UK is commercializing quantum computing at a quick pace, which is in line with our goal of combining the talents of our partners to fully realize the potential of quantum computing.

A single calculation that would take a fair amount of time for a normal computer cannot be completed by a quantum computer.

TreQ stated that it selected the UK as its location due to Ms. Birch’s prior experience working with British military troops during counterterrorism operations in Africa, as well as the UK’s standing as a global powerhouse for quantum computing.

The business claimed that its staff had constructed about a dozen quantum computers worldwide.
